Title: Fiber Optic Sights for 870 Youth
Post by: RangerHD on March 30, 2014, 10:23:47 AM
Been reading a lot of old posts and cannot find anyone talking about what to do with that white bead on the front of the 870.  I just bought it yesterday and know I will most likely need to put some adjustable sights on it.  Do you leave the bead on it or remove it?  If you remove it, how does it come off?  What are some good fiber optic sights?

I have an SSX choke tube on the way and picked up Federal HW #7s after reading a lot of posts on here.

I think those beads are pressed in. If it were me i would leave the bead on and add some Williams Fire Sights! You do not need to remove the bead for the Williams. GOOD LUCK!

Just leave it on....I use the Pro Series Magnum Gobble Dot sights. I put the front sight right behind the bead. No problems at all. The Fire Sights are good to as Rem Man suggested.

Leave it on. I know my 870 20 ha was screwed in but most are pressed. Plus, I like it to make sure the after market sights are in line with factory. Tru glo or Williams will be the best bet for ya.

What sight do you have behind your bead?  The true bead sight I bought from tur glo will not work this way.  You must remove it.  I was able to mount the rear sight.  Wondering if I can use factory white bead and rear fiber optic sight?
