Title: Burris Picatinney Protector, JUNK??
Post by: Tucker3474 on March 29, 2014, 05:48:50 PM
Just went to mount my FFiii on my 870. Set my fat wrench to a smidge over 10 inch pounds, 1 screw tightened fine the other pulled the threads right out? Guess that ranks up there with the worst 50 bucks ever spent!!

Call Burris Monday.  They have historically been very good at making things right for many members here.  Did you use the longer screws?  Should have been a set of longer screws with the protector.

Yes, I used the longer set that came with the protector. I also put the lock washers on them. Thought I was being careful  ???

My regular picatinny mount (not the proetctor) did this last week as well. I called Burris first thing Monday morning and had a new base delivered on Wednesday. You can't beat that.
