Title: advice for purpleheart pot....
Post by: Teebugg on March 28, 2014, 10:27:18 PM
Building my first pot call using purpleheart and have a few questions. I got it today and figured i would do the progression of sandpaper  120 220 400 600 etc... but when i touched it with 400 just to try a spot it seemed to take color away. Any certain things i need to know about purpleheart? Half tempted to just use some spar on it and leave it alone. Help!

Any certain things i need to know about purpleheart?

It's a common wood used in bridge and pier construction in South America...very rot resistant.

Over time the pretty purple color will fade to a muddy nasty looking brown.
