Myrtlewood or at least this piece, is hard like osage ... this piece came from Virginia I think Barry sent it to me or Chief Bubba may have sent it to me from florida. But either way the piece was full of cracks from drying and all I could use it for was strikers. It really grabbed well on Aluminum and the titanium pots.
