Title: Today's Coyote
Post by: beagler on March 15, 2014, 06:32:05 PM
Well we still have a long way to go here in Pa before our turkey season opens so we headed out once again for coyote. We started a pair in a small swamp. One eluded us but we did manage this nice female. Four of our members got a glimpse of it before the fifth anchored it with a well placed shot.

Great looking yote! What kind of dogs do you run? We run walkers, redbone, and blue ticks here in NY.

Mostly walkers but this particular day we only had one plott out.

That's a big yote!
Actually just an average size female, she went 34lbs. The largest I've seen so far was a 51lb male my dad killed. Average adult female is around 30-35 and male around 35-42.

I grew up in PA and moved in 1977. No coyotes that I knew of back then but they sure have to every state since then. We have lots of them in WY - come get some!

Nice!  Lot of fun running them with dogs.  Is that a Plott?  They are used quite a bit around here.
