Title: At the hospital
Post by: MouthCaller on March 05, 2014, 08:17:54 AM
With my wife today for her gallbladder surgery it's supposed to be routine and non complicated but any and all prayers for her today will be greatly appreciated.

Been there done that brother.  Praying for a easy surgery and recover for her.  After mine I had a period of time that I stayed sick to my stomach all the time.  Seems it takes some time for the body to learn that the liver must make less bile salts.  Without the gall bladder, the liver keeps dumping bile into the intestines and it can cause irritation both directions.  It is worse for some than others.  Finally they put me on a medicine called Welchol.  It is a cholesterol medicine but it also will work to bind the bile salts and reduce irritation. It was a near miracle cure. Took it for about a year and no longer need it.  If she has problems like this, ask her doctor about Welchol.

Had mine out a few years ago. It was not to bad, but as a dr. friend told me, getting your gall bladder out is no big deal anymore unless your the one having the operation.

Thoughts and prayer with you and your wife.
