I've been making pot calls for a while, and would like to get into mouth calls. I'd like to try it before I jump right in by buying a mouth call press. I've never priced one but I'm sure they are expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any words of wisdom on the process of making a mouth call? Any information will be appreciated I'm a greenhorn when it comes to this.

I have thought about buying a professional press, but I can't justify spending that much money. I have been making calls with mad call maker for about 20 years. Its not hard that just time consuming.  I like this technique because take when I hunt out of town.

I would say start of by buying a hand held press. You can get all the material to make mouth calls from poineerturkeycalls.com. Once you have made a few and can tell whether you like doing it or not then go to the big press and tape cutter. Thad bright sales both. You can also get a hand held from Arnie Jonathan. Good luck,

I just talked to AJ and he said he can't get those anymore. You might also talk to Scot McLemore. He goes by trapperscott.

Look in the turkey call classified section.  I sell a kit for making mouth calls which is simple, effective, and inexpensive.  The basic kit for $30 will be the best investment you will ever make if you want to make mouth calls.
