Title: Choke tube question
Post by: Dk jones on March 01, 2014, 12:24:36 PM
Just bought a used mossberg 835. The choke in it is an accu-mag xtra full. Below that it says t&f steel. Does this mean for steel shot only or can I shoot lead turkey loads thru it.       Thanks for any answers.

Lead will be fine.

If a choke is approved for steel then you can shoot ANY shot material made thru it.

:agreed: Lead won't do any harm to that choke...

If, for whatever reason you become disastified with that choke, I used a Comp-n-Choke in my old 835 for years, and loved it; Winchester #4's would whack 'em out to 60 yards, no sweat.  I sold that gun, and now I kinda wish I had it back (sentimental reasons more than anything).
