Whats everyones go to or favorite call in the turkey woods?
For me its a Woodhaven Cherry Classic Crystal call. And when they get a little closer I use a Woodhaven Legend Series slate.
Whats everyone else's favorite?
Primos "True Double" and "True Triple" stacked frame mouth calls. IMO they are PURE turkey. :icon_thumright:
Hooks Enforcer mouth call or a Stone Road pot call made my Gary Taylor.
Bama Boy triple reed. Made in Citronelle, Al. Now my favorite call in the woods is a cackle and not just at daylight.
Whatever particular call the turkey at hand is liking.
Gooserbat Hillbilly, but I'm bias.

I agree. As far as the calls that I own, if I had to pick a favorite though, it'd be the David Halloran Crystal Mistress.
Usually my south land slate is in my hands more than any other but I trust all of my calls

A Billy White slate & a Woodhaven Red Wasp. Magnum Strutter box if nothing's gobbled by 7am.
I do not go into the turkey woods without a Woodhaven Copperhead in my mouth.
I like all my calls, but the one that will run just about by itself is my Roberts brothers glass over slate with a bloodwood striker.

My Ryan Bonjour slate over glass in a tigerwood pot, and his purpleheart striker. :icon_thumright:
Usually The C.C . Smoker. The last few years I've cranked em up with a wing bone when nothing seemed to working late in the day.

Now that's a good call. My best gobbler ever fell for that one! :icon_thumright:
Warrent243 , that is a very good call and one I also use. Pay attention however, a man in my county was doing that a couple of years ago and a Copperhead bit him on his ring finger.
HS Strut Raspy Old Hen mouth call and Alex Williams anodized aluminum pot.
Cody Spec 1 slate and Gulvas Master's Choice.
Irene
Mouth call - Likely a Gooserbat Hillbilly or Bacon

As far as sound, kee kee run works for me on a mouth call.
C.C Smoker, Mother Lode X Terminator, and my newest that I love Gooserbat Bacon!
Friction call would be Crystal Mistress and Tom Teaser Slate
I use a Heart of dixie mouth call more often than not.
My favorite is the Tom Bomb from Houndstooth!

Primos Jackpot slate and Hooks Executioner are a tossup for me
Had Flyrodd one of our members build me a pot a few years back slate over slate and it has been the death of a lot of Tom over the last few years. He builds an awesome call. Thanks , Jack
I actually bought a few more and gave them to some of my youth hunt hunters. They love em..
David Halloran Twisted Sister crystal over slate pot
Usually a flextone scarface slate. But really what ever they are responding to.

Woodheaven Alum, almost 20 years old,,,still shakes them up today!
I don't really have a go to...usually will hit a mouth call 85% of the time. I think I'm gonna really like my cane creek pro custom slate this year though

It's a toss up between a Stone Road cherry slate over glass and a Woodhaven cheery classic slate.
Gooserbat hillbilly! If you haven't tried one you need too!
Hooks enforcer
Lights Out aluminum and yellow heart

Same here. I carry several different calls. So I just use whatever they are responding to, usually ends up being a mouth call. I also bought a cane creek pro custom slate a few weeks ago and can't wait to get it in the turkey woods. I am very impressed with it so far.
Mine changes every year. Last year it was a Halloran Crystal Mistress. Mouth calls are so inconsistent, especially year to year, that I've got to go through the ones from the last season & buy several new each year and find a favorite.
I've got an old scratch box that was my go to for several years, its lost it mojo now though.
Supreme Siren or Supreme Cocobola Strutbuster
first is a woodhaven legend slate.
2nd isn't that old but I am falling in love with it. and its a jimmy Shaffer with oak ridge game calls and its a though call. and it is sweet.
I can do it all on both of these and they always sound great no matter what so that's why im going with these two.
Fatal Attraxion slate or glass pot call with a dymondwood striker.
stick to rake, the leaves like a hen is scratching.
