Post by: turkeykiller on February 23, 2014, 06:06:30 PM
Has anyone ever used a wood sound board under a copper pot call. Was just thinking of making one.

I tried it once. Jatoba pot with a thin bloodwood soundboard. It came out with a nice sound to it. Nothing that I could say for sure the wood was doing better than a glass or slate soundboard but it certainly didn't ruin it.

I just started conditioning a couple 3 inch calls I made over the weekend.  One pot is osage orange, the other cocobola.  I used glass soundboards under them.  They have some real potential.
