Title: New tactical 935 build
Post by: Skeeterbait on February 22, 2014, 11:45:47 AM
Well after many successful years with 835's, I finally pulled the trigger on a new 935 autoloader.

List of components:
Mossberg Model 935 Pistol Grip Turkey Shotgun
12 gauge, 3.5" chamber, 22" barrel, Mossy Oak Infinity
Mossberg Receiver Picatinny Rail
Ultradot L/T Reflex Sight, new model
26x22 mm window, 4 MOA red dot,  10 stage push button brightness
waterproof, 1000g shock resistance, pull out battery tray, hard cover
Nordic Components MXT +2 Magazine Extension
Nordic Components Extension Clamp with Picatinny Rails
Nordic Components Extended Magazine Spring
Nordic Components Extended Charging Bolt Handle
Troy Industries QD Swivel Rail Mount
Troy Industries QD Swivels
Noveske Flush Mount QD Swivel Cup
Browning X-cellerator Sling, Mossy Oak Infinity, modified
Brownell's Enhanced Steel Safety Kit for Mossberg
Brownell's Stainless Steel Low Friction Magazine Follower
Magpul Ladder Style Rail Covers
Choate 3/4" Mark 5 Stock Spacer
Indian Creek Black Diamond Strike .675 choke tube
Mossy Oak Graphics Camo Gear Skin, Mossy Oak Infinity
Allen 46" Padded Gun Case, Mossy Oak Infinity
Shell Capacity:
     2.75" & 3.00"     Factory 4+1    With Extension 6+1
     3.50"                 Factory 3+1    With Extension 5+1

I don't really need the higher magazine capacity but the extension allows a factory load of shells to be put in the gun without bottoming out the spring and fatiguing it prematurely.  The added weight of the extension and clamp amounts to about 10 ounces giving the gun the muzzle rise of a gun with a 28 inch barrel while allowing the barrel to remain short.  It also gives me a point of attachment for my side mount sling.

The groove up the centerline of the Mossberg rail allows me to co-witness my front fiber optic sight looking thru the rail groove and under the reflex sight as if the rail were a peep sight.

The raised safety button allows the tang safety to be operated with the index finger.  The tang safety on Mossbergs are great with a traditional stock but a pain with a pistol grip causing you to have to let go of the grip and pull the thumb up over the stock.  This button allows a person to push it off with the index finger.

Had a buddy do the same last season. He has an 835 from 93 -94 with the Greenleaf pattern I believe. He set her up for lead cause he just could not totally retire her.

You got that gun set up right. Cannot wait to see some harvests with her!

On a side note, I always enjoy your posts and knowledge. Thanks for being willing to spread your knowledge. I enjoy learning a thing here and there!

Awesome setup.  I have been wanting a 935 for a while now.  I don't know if I'll pull the trigger before the season stars or not, but your post isn't making me want one any less, that's for sure.
