What is everyone's thoughts on moon phases. I have a new moon on the first day of my hunt.
I don't feel the moon phase makes much of a difference. Only time I find it play anything is a full moon during the rut. I've looked at the moon phase feeding charts for fish and game and I've had mixed results . I catch fish like crazy on days that ain't so hot and vice versa on days I should. Same with game
Regardless of the moon, turkeys are still in the tree at night. They can't eat or get their horny on in the dark

The only way that the moon affects my hunt for birds is that on a full moon, I can navigate faster through the woods (I dont use a flash light).
I've heard birds gobbling all night on a full moon, but I can't say I've ever taken the time to figure out if it made a difference in the hunting.
A full moon can be a hindrance as far as crossing an opening, walking down a road, etc. They may gobble earlier on a full moon. I look at wind, wind direction, and fog or rain much more than moon phase.
A new moon works for me so good hunting on opening day.
I do not believe a full moon has any impact on turkeys like it does with deer. Only thing I have noticed is a full moon on a clear night will get birds gobbling alot earlier in the morning. While I have not witnessed it myself I would think some birds would gobble all night.
The only thing I have noticed during a full moon is more than not some toms spend most of the night gobbling at one another.

I don't think it affects them either. But will gobble all night on a full moon as some have said.
God Bless
The ranches I hunt on the full moon keeps the wild boar hunkered down through the night and they finally come out in the morning. I seem to end up with a pig instead on my way to get into position for the birds. Try and get their hams in a cooler and keep moving if I can.
Full moon is better for me. I can get in a lot quieter
I don't hunt at night so I don't ever notice.
