Title: Ammo advice for new 20 Gauge??
Post by: Ridge Rooster on February 02, 2014, 06:35:30 PM
I am going to use my new M2 20 gauge this year when I chase Ol Long beard in the mountains. My gun has 26" barrel and is the crio/comfort teck stock gun. I have a Rhino .575 constricted choke tube and I am going to shoot heavy shot of some kind. I am after a killing pattern to 40 yards and really don't care about the price. I have had really good luck with Nitro/Rhino combo out of my SBE and 3" 11-87, so I am considering ordering a 10 round box of straight #7 heavy unless someone can recommend a better combo. What do yall suggest???

Thanks
Ridge Rooster

That's as good as it gets unless you handload some TSS .

Yep, this^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

To me however, If you are going to spend that much on nitro's, why not spend a dollar or 2 or more and load your own TSS.

Personally, I'll take Fed HW 7's out of a Sumtoy or Indian Creek choke over the Nitro's.

I agree, only thing better is loading TSS.

Would love to try the TSS but I dont hand load for shotguns. Wonder why nobody loads them in a factory shell?

I didn't load either... until I started. Now is as good a time as any to start.

Ridge Rooster

It would cost $15 PER shell if it was offered in a factory load.

To buy already loaded? You can't. Have to by the components then reload em yourself. Pretty simple tho
