sent Mr. Sneed a check on wed... What wood would you guys recommend for the call??? im calling him mon to confirm my order... Cant wait to get it
Actually I'm having a brain fart and can't remember the wood. Regardless it sounds great. The striker is cedar. I run hickory on it. To me it sounded the best. A close second is dymondwood if I want it a little higher pitched.
I've heard a lot of people like hickory.

He make most of his slate calls out of one or more types of cedar.
I talked with Mr Sneed this week and ordered Hot Hen Slate and Outlaw Hen Glass. He told me he was making Hot Hen's with a combination of sycamore and cedar.Never talked to a finer gentleman!,MG150
Yep, if you're bored one day and just wanna talk turkey with someone , Mr Sneed is the man to call. He'll talk to you for hours on end. Heck of a guy.
I spoke with Mr. Sneed yesterday as well as put my check in the mail. I'm looking forward to calling on the hot hen when it arrives.
I have heard a lot about the Hot Hen slate but not as much about the Outlaw Hen glass and was curios about how well they are liked.

Lonnie just came out with his Outlaw Hen a few months ago. That's why you have not heard as much about it. He told me it sounded so good it would call a gobbler off your neighbor's property. I have three different sizes of his Green glass and the Outlaw Hen is my favorite.
Sorry to hijack this thread but, how much does Mr. Sneed charge for his calls? Thanks.
$30 for hot hen or outlaw. $10 for the leather cover. Comes with one striker.
Check out his Terminator aluminum. I probably just let the cat out of the bag on a true killer.
I talked to Lonnie on Monday. I never talked to a nicer man. I sent the money on Tuesday for 2 Hot Hen slates. One for me and one for my 15 year old son. I got to hear them over the phone and now can't wait to get them.
I ordered a hot hen, green glass outlaw hen, and a tree yelper today. Man I can't wait to get these calls in. Mr. Sneed is an unbelievably nice guy. We talked Eastern's and Osceolas for literally 30 minutes.

The Outlaw Hen sounds really good to me as well. I don't have another glass call in that price range that comes anywhere close.
whats the diff between the Green Glass and the Outlaw. I got the Green glass last year and really like it. Just wanna make sure I'm not missing out! Already got a Hot Hen and love it!!!
The turkey tracks on the top and going down the side on that one spot on the hot hen, does that indicate the sweet spot, or does he just like putting that on there? Sorry may be a dumb question.

How does his aluminum sound? Blasted or smooth?
I had the honor of speaking with Mr. Sneed today to order some calls. I'm sure not saying anything new but what a wonderful gentleman he is!! I hope I am not betraying anything but we spoke about turkey's, turkey calls, hunting, his wife and God. You just hear in his voice the love he has for his wife, his family, friends, turkey's and making calls.
Thank you Mr. Sneed for making my day better by sharing yours!!
