Gun poll, very basic, do you have a dedicated Turkey gun and or guns? if so what is the current gauge of your go to Turkey gun right now. Just getting a lay of the land right now and wondering if I even need anything more than my 20 gauge
:fud: :OGani:
Sorry I set the poll up wrong... You can only choose one option I meant for it to register 2
I have two. An 870 Supermag 12 and a Mossy 500 20. Both of these are turkey only.
1. SP-10
2. Max Gobbler
3. 1187 SuperMag
Gman
I've got 2, a SBE II I use out west or when I'm hunting field birds at home. My other is an old 870 mag when I'm huntin the public land, shots are never over 25-30 yards

My Winchester 1300, it only goes turkey hunting.
870 SP Remington ,,,,21 inch tube,,,Tricked in 87
1187SP Remington,,,21 inch Tube,,Tricked in 88
M-1 Benelli,,,Tricked in 07,,,
All 3 inch,,,,all super tight shooting guns
-870 Super Express Mag (downpour days)
-Stoeger M3500 (primary but don't like to use it on nasty days as not having to worry about mechanical issues)
-Winchester 1300 (first turkey gun & I love it but as I get older it didn't get easier on my shoulder)
All are 12 gauges and are extremely effective turkey killers.....
Nef single shot 12 ga. Only for turkey's. Stock is black finished with a sharpie marker. As you can tell I'm not really into guns. Just the bare necessities.
I have 2 and they are only for turkeys. A browning BPS NWTF edition 12 gauge and a Remington 870 12 gauge express with a 23" turkey barrel.
Browning

I wish I had the cash for a softer shooting gas semi loader, but this will get it done for now!

1187 and 870 SM. Both have Pure Gold .670 chokes, with the Burris FastFire, shooting 3 1/2 Heavy shot #7s.
The Mossberg 500 is my sons.
12 ga 870 express w shur shot stock
Black Rem 870 Express 3.5" 12 ga. I had the forcing cone lengthened and the barrel polished long before it was the in thing. I added a set of tri-vis sights for several years, and those worked great, but I never could get over the plastic construction so I switched them for Truglo Mag Gobble dot. I've shot the same Ballistic Specialties .655 choke for years. The gun/choke hates #4 shot of any kind, will kill all day long with #5 and with #6 is a beautiful thing.
REM 870 supermag. Just for turkey

I have two. A 12 gauge Remington 870 Super Mag and a Benelli Super Nova 3 1/2 inch magnum.
However , I also have a youth model 20 gauge Charles Daly pump. I bought it for my Grandkids , but I have gotten to where I also like using it. I have killed several turkeys with it the last couple of years. Out to 40 yards , it is deadly.
1. Winchester 1300 Buck/Tom with a 21" barrel, dipped in MO New Break Up.
2. NEF single, 24" barrel, dipped in original MO Bottomland.
Both are 12 ga., both shoot a JH .660 with 3" Hevi 13 straight 7.
:icon_thumright:
That single sure is nice to tote around the mountains.
I have one dedicated turkey gun, and one back up (my old dedicated turkey gun). Both are 870's in 12 gauge. I know that guys are getting fantastic results out of 20 ga's., but I just wouldn't feel very manly shooting a pop gun. ;) ;D
dedicated turkey guns are 870's. one 20 and one 12.
Auto , 3 left are all black, turkey don't care and as high dollar as they are i like that i can still find them after i lean them against the tree or lay em on the ground to go pick the birds up!
Tell the truth guys , none have ever turned around and had to search for that camo gun. :help:
I have a Benelli SBE2, 26 in with a kicks .655 and just picked up an 870 express supermag in advantage camo. I happened to have an Indian creek 665 for it. The Benelli throws a mean pattern with hevi 6's and not too shabby with winchester hv 5's. I have yet to pattern the 870. Waiting on warmer weather. Although I will admit neither are strictly turkey guns. The Benelli is my "anything that flies" gun and I've been carrying the 870 coyote hunting.
Browning Bps _12 Gauge_Mossy Oak Break up_3.5" Mag_NWTF_Gobblin' Thunder Choke_Winchester Supreme #5's 2oz_Truglo_Tru_Bead_Turkey_Extreme_
I have a 26 inch SBEII that I use for both waterfowl and turkeys. I use a Primos Jellyhead, I think it's a .660 with #5 Winchesters. My backup gun is a Remington 870 with the Remington X-full turkey choke. Both guns/chokes combos kill the gobblers just fine.
I've got two guns rigged exclusively for turkeys:
1. Browning Silver w a Pentax 2.5x25 and Indian Creek .675 shooting Nitro 5x6x7 Hevi-13.
2. Remington 870 SPS with Williams fire sights and a Sumtoy .650 Hevi-13 6s.
1 Mossberg 835 26 inch barrel dead ringer sights jelly head shoot magnum blends
2 stoeger m2000 28 inch barrel hevi shot 3 inch magnum blends
3 Mossberg 500 28 inch barrel jelly head 3 inch magnum blends
(for now) doing some up grading this year with a new gun and some new chokes and sights.
