Title: Dura-Touch stocks
Post by: Holston on December 29, 2013, 03:20:18 PM
Anybody else have peeling issues with the Dura-Touch coating on Winchester and Browning guns?

While I have heard of that happening, I have not seen it on my guns with that finish.

I do however keep solvents and oils off those stocks. I suspect that at least some of the problems that I read about is caused by cleaning or lubrication and whatever is used being splashed on the stock forend.

There was one cleaner/solvent that I used for a while that would remove any finish from any gun. "Otherwise" it worked very well!

Thanks,
Clark

That would be my first thought as well, but...the only time that gun is ever cleaned, it has been disassembled.

Only thing that has touched the stock while cleaning is a damp (warm water) rag to wipe off and mud/blood, etc.

I was mostly just curious, I still love the SX2.  Guess it'll get rattle canned after it all peels off, no big deal.
