Title: Kansas Early Bow hunts

how is the hunting in central kansas during the archery opener?  im looking hard at misty morning outfitters for my wife and i a rio hunt and we have came up with going the 4-6 for the bow opener.  are the gobblers grouped up still and responsive any?  the guide said it will be good hunting and we wil be fine

You should be in good shape....birds shouldn't be call wary yet etc. a plus.

In my experience, some birds will still be grouped. We've been hunting the opening week of gun season for the past 5 years and still find some birds grouped together. Should be a great time, I love going to Kansas!

A few years back a Misty Morning Outfitters got investigated by the feds. Don't know if anything ever became of it.

several have told me of this now.  best i can tell is it was in 2011.  ive heard 2 sides kind of, but if he can still legally guide, and can put us on birds, then im game.

Literally anybody can guide in Kansas. It is unregulated.

I have hunted in southern KS the last several years during bow season it is usually pretty good.  Last year, 5 of us hunted and ended up with 4 gobblers and one jake.  Two guys tagged out and another killed a stud.  I got to run the camera, but never had an opportunity.  Weather can be crappy, though!

Well how did it go?
