I selected my doe permit for a area that I Turkey hunted this spring, and I've hunted a few times BUT no Turkey have shown up. I've scouted around, and it is as if they all vanished. I'm guessing they are all "yarded" up together on another property.
I'll press on hoping to nab one with my bow over the next 4 weeks!
Good luck. I have a fall tag too. Booted 4 or 5 out of the roost on my way out from bow hunting Tues.evening.It was dark so I was surprised they left the safety of the roost. Seen what I assume are the same birds in nearby bean field again last evening . They were feeding as they headed to the roost.
Seen 4 hens here in NY on opening day of archery but our fall turkey season doesnt open until the 19th. :drool:
here in Missouri I got 4 deer tags and 2 turkey tags. Archery....our season lasts from Sept 15 to Jan 15.....you can also get 2 turkey tags with a gun. And 4 tags for gun deer season....plus you can buy unlimited doe tags for $7 each....Have tried to kill a turkey with a bow but get busted by them all the time....still trying....Danny
