Things are looking up....weather is nice, feeling like working again...I found an older picture of one of Don Bald's Tube calls while recooping, loved the work, as always Don If #1 in my opinion when it comes to decorating a call....so I turned this one in his honor....with a few twists....It is made from stabilized Box Elder with spalting and straw-berrying with a Blood wood bell. It has a one inch diameter "TITANIUM" tube inserted inside the call...I found this material is much lighter then the brass, more expensive but lighter in weight, and i am getting the same crispness from the tube as if it had the brass insert. The call is baffled 1 - 1/8" inside from the lip-stop with a 5/8" hole leading out to the 1" exit at the bell end.
I carved oak leaves around the bell end, and turkey tracks around the main body of the tube, with diagonal lines on the section above the lanyard groove and on the bottom side of the bell. The lip stop is also a piece of Bloodwood. This is one sweet lil' tube caller....enjoy...pappy

Glad to hear you are doing better. that is a nice call, I see you have a fat o-ring on it i use them also, makes changing the latex real easy. i made a few tube calls i was going to post, but after seeing this i will just put them on the shelf. stay well sir.
