Im a long time reader but not posted much but I'd like to share a preview of my turkey season this past spring. My crew and I hunted 3 states for 3 subspecies while recording 16 kills on camera. Very nice, but like preacher said, its a shame to put that much time into editing a piece (and I know how much that is) to leave something that may be offensive to some people like that- its a quick fix with most software. And if ya want to go places with footage, may want to stay away from the music that's protected unless you have the correct permissions. Maybe not likely, but that can be troublesome if in fact you're doing it for more than personal fun.
But that is some stellar footage, really like that bow drawn piece. Good luck with the production!
Thanks for the comments guys, it took alot of work putting it together still dreading the final production which should be done by sept. 1. As for the last part, I thought and the majority of people who watched, thought it was funny, can't appeal to everyone. I do all this for fun and challenge otherwise I would use unlicensed music. Just a question: " Who would be offended if you did not drop the f-bomb?"
Before you respond please know that I have been in the US Army, ( heard and been called every word you can think of) , I have been around hunting camps all my life, I have been a part of football lockerrooms both college and highschool. In short I have heard it all and even dropped a few colorful words my self, (not as many now but I still slip up sometimes) . The point is : it just anit necessary , ( it does not add inches to your mangum oops magnum, so to speak) . What about the ladies in your life, IE. your wife, mom, daughter, ma maw, or others? I believe most if not all would rather it be left out.
Now I know you did not ask for a sermon, and I thank you for reading my post. bottomline Great turkey footage and I would love to hunt with y'all sometime.

Probably nobody would of got offended if I did omit the last portion. I left it in there to express the excitement of calling that Merriam to less than 10 yards and the close shot that ensued. I am truly sorry I offended you, but I'm sure my music choice offended some people, and surely offended a lot more because I was killing an animal. People are going to get offended, no matter what I or you do, or believe. I started making videos because I was offended at the current state of the turkey hunting culture. When I see tent blinds with a flock of decoys in front, it makes me sick that I get grouped with those hunters (I'm sure I just offended more people with that statement.) I was raised by some of the greatest turkeymen in the business, and just want to keep their ways and legacy alive.
I did go through 12 years of Catholic school and graduated from a Methodist college, so I'm not too much of a savage. Again I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
If you have great footage and hunts, like you do, you don't need to add the other stuff that might be offensive. I know you can't make everybody happy. Hope you don't take offense to some of the comments. I think it will make your great hunts even better. I know the guys that made some of these comments and they weren't trying to preach at you just trying to help you out a little. Keep that camera rolling you have some great stuff. I know how hard it is to get great footage. Good job.

Great footage really liked all of it but the end is a little offensive as cove said but can be fixed for sure.. One of the best turkey hunts ever I filmed two years ago and the fella instantly after the shot said offensive word after word totally ruined the footage... All in all you got a great video in the making!!!
As the F bomb dropper in the video I'll chime in. Yes, it could have easily been edited out but I think choctaw wanted to leave it in to show a little different side of the hunt. There are plenty of people out there that will be offended by it I am sure......... you can't cater to everyone. Of course it would have been edited if his intentions were to sell videos, but they are not.
The gobbler at the end of the video was killed about 10 minutes after killing a different turkey. He fired up to our calling right before choctaw killed one, so we hung him up and went after the other bird. Got set up and things happened fast as you can see. I was fired up and definitely do not have a filter during the heat of the moment. I'm kind of glad he left it in the video, shows a different reaction then most. I have no problem with how you handle yourself after a kill. Plenty of guys like to sit and thank the lord for the bird they have just called in which I think is great. (I've done it myself, hopefully he will forgive me for the excitement ;)). When I hunt alone there are times when I will hang the bird up and just sit in the woods for a while.
Edit: and yes Preacher, both of my grandmothers would probably not like to hear me saying that...... :toothy12: but they understand the passion and excitement I have for the hunt.
I am not trying to get in a war of words with y'all. I just gave my opinion, ( in a nice way, or so I thought). If you think you need that to communite excitement , by all means leave it there. You don't have to worry about offending me, The Sovereign Creator of the Universe knows our thoughts and meditations , He knows the number of hairs on our head, we all need to be concerned about that.
It seems to me that in our world today that a good many folks think they have to be shocking or on the edge, as they portray themselves to other people. (just look to hunting videos as an example) I would rather folks focus on my hunting , calling , shooting, laughing, or most anything, rather than my inability to refrain form cussing.

I'm no saint by any means but it sure is a crazy world we live in Preacher when some takes you not being offensive, offensive. ???
