The end of the New Mexico turkey season came way too fast, so my hunting buddy and I went to Kansas for our first out of state trip this weekend to hunt Rios and despite the high winds and ridiculous heat we had a blast. The Rios were fired up and gobbling up a storm. I killed this strutting tom the first morning. 20 lbs, 8 oz; 1" spurs; and a 9 " beard, so I'm figuring a three year old. We've both only been at this for three years, but having a great time.

I called him in with my John Dangerfield trumpet.
