I have a pesky tom that is constantly roosting on one side of a large creek and then pitching over in the am.  I am thinking of trying an afternoon hunt to catch him heading to roost.  My question is do you all think that I should put out a strutter decoy, hens, or no decoys.  Thanks for the opinions

I would probably try him once or twice with no decoy, then resort to a decoy if I could not get close enough for a shot without decoys.

				What is a pecky tom?

One that is mis-spelled from pesky

I got a bird that is strutting late afternoon early evening before fly up as well in a field, with roost off the property.... I think I'm gonna try the full strut and decoys on him, and see what happens, keep us posted if you get him!
