Title: Hevi 3.5/2.25/7's lot #'s
Post by: Longshanks on April 29, 2013, 07:31:37 PM
Just found a deal on two boxes of 300857. Are these good shells? I also ordered two boxes from Cabelas. No telling what I will get there..last couple of years I was thinking the bad numbers were anything ending in xxx400. Bad would be a relative term even with these shells..270's rather than 330's. I'm also thinking that if the pattern is still even..but just opens up some..that wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I would say that it will shoot good for you.   Now wheter it will shoot like lot 300325 I highly doubt it.  But most of the other 3.5" Hevi-13 #7 lots I have shot did pretty good.  Lot 300525 wasn't bad either.  But I always say only one way to find out is to shoot it.  Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Brad,
I was thinking it will still shoot better than any other load through the Xtrema. I just put a short stock on it for my son and I'm thinking I should run a shell through it to make sure everything is still good. I will post up the results when I do. Hope the back is feeling better.

I just checked my list of good/bad lot#'s and i dont have that one anywhere so you'll be the first to try it. PLEASE PM me with your results. Also 270 is not what I would consider bad. If a 3.5" 2.25oz #7 puts up 270 or more i consider it good. Now i have several lot#'s of the 3.5" 2.25oz #7's  that are what I consider JUNK, 180-240 in a 10" circle. That's not to say they wont kill a gobbler at 40yds with those low numbers because the will.

Thanks, I will post some results when I get a chance to shoot. Waiting on the other shells from Cabelas now. I will run those numbers by you to see if you have any info on them as well. Thank you for checking those #'s.

Just got a couple boxes from Midsouth Shooter Supply. One was #300525 the other was #300514. Any thoughts on these #'s.
