Title: Remington Hevi 7.5s
Post by: Dallen92 on March 24, 2013, 02:02:04 PM
Would anyone happen to have any pattern pictures or just numbers that the older remington hevi shot loads for 20 gauge put up.  They are 3 inch and are 1 1/8 oz loads of 7.5 shot.  Picked up a box of these the other day for a real good deal and was wondering how they shoot and what experiences you had with them. Thanks

I have the 2 3/4" Rem Hevi-shot 7.5 shot but no patterns. You made a good purchase and they should easily carry you to the 40 yard mark as far as that goes. I call it killability. Not in dictionary but a very important thing to know.

If they are the ones that were 1300 fps they shot good out of my 870 with IC .555.  I have no patterns or numbers,  this was probably 5 years ago, sorry.

I just patterned one of the remington hevi shot 3" 1&1/8 #6s @ 40 yards and i got 82 inthe 10 ring.Rem 870 20ga 21"bbl .572 rsf choke. It threw a nice even pattern and i wouldnt hesitate to use them for hunting. Im going to hunt with the Fed HWs #7s though because they gave me 130 in the 10 ring @ 40.Your 7.5s should break 100 @ 40 and should have the energy needed @ 40 yds to kill. The fact that theyre 1300 fps should give them some extra knockdown power.
