Title: Pure Gold Tempest 550
Post by: mossyoakpro on March 15, 2013, 08:35:24 AM
Does anyone have any experience with the Pure Gold Tempest 550?  I have a good friend on their prostaff that wants me to try it out....I tried the 570 and was not impressed at all.

This will be out of a 1187 with a 26" barrel if that makes a difference....

Thanks!!

For some reason the Pure Gold's don't perform as well as a whole with the 20 ga.  The .570 was definitely the best of any, but still not as good as IC, SSX, RSF...etc.  They do very well in the 12.  All you can do is shoot it and see.  Good luck!

Last year I got a PG 555 for a mossberg youth combo.  Shoot the FED HW 7 out of it and was real pleased.

I tried a few choke/load combo before I settled on this one.

I shoot a PG .555 out of my Benelli 20 gauge, get great patterns with it.

I've shot two of the 555 tempest. Both were 90 in ten type patterns. The 570 patterns better. 115 taupe patterns...his was with federal 7s.

Now the 570 shown bright for me with fed 6s. It put out a 120.
