Title: Hevishot Magnum Blend #7 or Federal Heavyweight #7?
Post by: duckhtnmaniac on March 13, 2013, 12:40:23 PM
So I know of course that every gun and choke combo is different however, have you guys found one of these shells to be better over the over. I shot a box of Fed Hvwt #7 and it patterned well out of my 20ga. Its a Charles Daly with a Lohman Super X Full choke. I need to buy another box to hunt with however, I saw these while at the store. I cant really afford to pay so much for testing so just wanted to get opinions on the 2. Thank you.

Just so we are clear, EM makes a H13 7 shell, and a MB shell which is 5,6,7. If you got good patterns with the HW 7s, I would stick with them. They can be finicky about chokes, but if you find a good one, that is the best 20 ga shell on the market. They have more penetration than even the HS 5s in the MBs. Some guns and chokes do better with the H13 7s, but the HWs carry a lot more punch.
