Title: marlin 22mag
Post by: jim67 on February 10, 2013, 09:13:19 PM
About a year ago,my neighbor said he wanted to sell his bolt action 22mag, so I went by the next day to buy it and he changed his mind.Fast forward to last Sat.my wife and I were splitting some wood for my next door neghbor who is now very Ill with cancer and they cant do it themselves. As I was splitting,I saw him come out of the house with his cane and carrying that rife, set it down then went back inside.Later his wife picked up the rifle and said Paul wanted you to have this, its his way of saying thanks. I broke out in tears! this was not expected. I will keep it and cherish it.

No good deed goes un-noticed. You was doing the right thing and was rewarded, nothing wrong with that. Now get her sighted in and kill something with it.

That is how Americans should act. That man knowing that he will never use it again and that a man like yourself who helps him out (due to the goodness in your heart) showed what respect is all about. I think its great that he just brought it out and set it down. He is from the old breed (reminds me of my grandpa) and must think very highly of you. I would not see it as a payment but instead a gift from one true friend to another. You should feel honored and proud........

You will never forget that.  I have a 783 myself and it is one accurate sucker.
