Does anyone have this gun and if so what kind of ammo are you using or recommend?

I bought the turkey model and 2 of the 26" field models; I absolutley loved the features of these guns; One thing turned me away from them completely is that every single one of them had a poa/poi issue! Ive done alot of trading on shotguns and havent come across this problem very often. If your planning on running a scope or dot sight this may not be that big of an issue.

That gun has an Invector+ bore, chrome-lined, and should pattern much like other Invector+ barrelled shotguns with similar length barrels.

In my experience, the ammo of choice would be 3" Hevi-13 shells with 2 oz. of #6 shot or #7 shot if that's legal where you hunt.

Thanks,
Clark

I have shot the Winchester 1300 in the past with the tru glow open sights and had no issues with aim.  I received the Winchester Turkey Edition for Christmas  but haven't fired it yet.  Do you think a scope would be recommended for this gun and if so which one.

That's completely up to you. I prefer optics on my dedicated turkey rigs. But I also like having one turkey gun that doesn't have optics ( incase of rainy weather ). As far as optics go you've got a lot of choices. I have a tru glo red dot and a burris ff3. I haven't had a chance to hunt with the Burris yet but i think im gonna really like it. As far as the tru glo goes it was inexpensive, I think I paid $60 for it. It's never lost its zero and never failed me. My uncle has a truglo on an 835 shootin 3.5" hevi13's and it hasn't lost zero in 3 seasons either. If money is an issue id say go for the tru glo. If you got a couple hundred to spend you might consider a Burris ff3. They have a huge following on here, and burris's customer service is 2nd to none.

Listen to what ''allaboutshooting'' says. His information helped me a lot. I have that exact gun. The best thing I found for mine was a Tru- Glo SSX. It is a .643 constriction. I am shooting Winchester Supreme 6's. Shoots a tight pattern from what I see. Have not really had a chance to see what load works best or have any #'s.
Never tried the sights because I put a Burris FF III on it. Even with this sight I did not have enough adjustment for a high low sighting in. I talked to the good folks at Burris and they told me to try shimming the base. I did that and problem solved. Burris Optics customer service is 2nd to none. Everyone I have talked to has had the same POI - POA issues on this gun.
