Title: bps 10 guage
Post by: gooblnfever on March 03, 2011, 01:12:10 PM
was thinking about trading my backup turkey gun mossy 835 tactical for a black synthetic bps 10  gauge with i think 28 in barrel

was just wondering if anybody has some experience good or bad with the bps 10 and do you think it would be a good trade or not

thanks

one word    HEAVY

1) HEAVY
2) Kicks like a mule
3) No real advantage over a 12 gauge 31/2" unless your shooting reloads
    or Nitros
4) With the long barrel the gun balances better as a waterfowling piece, as
    opposed to a turkey gun

As a 10 gauge affectionato, I always said if someone make a 10 gauge pump, "I'll have one."  They made the BPS, I bought one, I hunted with it, I sold it, enough said!!!

I have that same gun. It is heavier than most others but I have no issue's lugging it around the mountains here. I love taking that thing out.

I weighed my BPS 10 with a 24'' bbl., and an Aimpoint scope and mount today, 10# 3oz. With a Rhino choke, 10# 8oz. Loaded with 5 hevi-13's, 11# 4oz. Mike

By law, we are only allowed 3 shells in Pa. That should lighten it up a little.
