Title: Project Gun: Charles Daly 20 gauge...
Post by: Turkeykiller12 on December 18, 2012, 07:01:00 PM
I am in the planning stage of making a Charles Daly youth model 20 gauge pump a turkey killing machine. Here's a few issues I could use some help with. Issue#1, In just shooting the gun as is, it consistently shoots low when patterning at 40 yds. The "low" isn't terribly low and could possibly be fixed with the tru glo magnum gobble dot sight. I was pointed toward that sight by another user on this forum that has this same gun and turned it into a turkey killer. He also said his Charles Daly shot low. Issue#2, where can I find an adult stock for this gun? I don't think Charles Daly is operating anymore and I'm betting find this stock is going to be hard to find, I had a voucher in the box the gun came in that said I could send in the voucher for a regular stock. Issue# 3 where do I begin with chokes for this gun? Anyone out there built a turkey gun out of one of these "cheap" guns? I know they take the same chokes as the remington shotguns. Looking for replies from folks who have traveled the same road I'm currently traveling down.
