I just finished a project off of the Honey-do list, I refinished a dresser for my wife. I really love the wood that was used to make it but I am not sure what kind it is. I don't know if it helps but this dresser is about 70-80 years old its all solid wood. I did have to redo drawer bottoms on it but other than that the main hardwood was just cleaned up and refinished.

I have some interest in starting a few other projects like building a mantle for a friends lake house and maybe trying out an old lathe making a call or two, so I would really like to know what kind of wood was used in this dresser. I figured with all the woodworking expertise here someone might have run across this look before.
Thanks all!
It looks like quartersawn oak !
