We had 72 kids and 48 calls DONATED!! give the guys on here a big hand. We also raised $500 for two kids that lost their lives on July 4
Looks like a good time by all.
Awsome. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
Good job!
Way to go!!!
Looks like you had a nice turn out and a good time was had for all. Many people don't realize the amount of work that goes into putting on a JAKES day of that size. I do as we have ours coming up September 15th and are expecting another record amount of kids as it just keeps growing.
I don't know who you got to donate calls but if anyone is interested in any donations our event had 118 kids last year and we would be appreciative of anything we could get.
Our chapter is the Turkey Bluffs Chapter of Southern IL... Again congratulations on a successful event...
JAKES events are BY FAR the best thing NWTF has going for it.
Both of my kids are members and I have been involved with JAKES events for 20 years.
Congrats. Good job by all of you.

I agree it is the best thing that they have associated with their name and is a big reason the majority of folks in our area go to the banquet each year as they think that money is what pays for our JAKES event.
The sad truth is we gross over $30k a year at our banquet and get an average of around a $250 check to our chapter from the banquet which is ridiculous to most who know the truth.
They then give you a $350 check that is supposed to put on the JAKES event. If we use what we got from the banquet it combines for a whopping $600.
We purchase an average of 125 T=shirts to give every kid that comes which totals up to be just over $700
We have other fundraisers throughout the year (outside the NWTF) such as chicken-n-beer dances, gun raffles etc to pay for food, drink, ammunition, supplies and prizes.
I am getting a lot of people making the comments
"why do you even have a banquet if that is all the $ that comes back to the area? Couldn't you just have the youth day yourselves if that is all they do?"It is hard to justify an answer to the public when inside yourself you agree....
Great job.
:icon_thumright: That's great. Hats off to you fellas that work the jakes events. It's so important to have our kids involved in the outdoors and to keep our turkey hunting traditions alive.
