Title: Wonder why guns only have the term "assualt weapon"
Post by: savduck on July 23, 2012, 08:00:55 PM
I grew up in a house of God fearing women. Back in those days there were many more "cuss" words than now, words that many children say openly. I had old school justice levied against me when I was out of line. Sometimes it was biting down on a bar of irish spring soap, sitting on Nanna's toilet awaiting the willow or pear switch whipping that usually followed to put an excalmation point on the purpose of the punishment. There were also slippers, coat hangers, leather belts, wooden paddles, wooden spoons, fly swatters, and good ol bare hand butt whoopings.

Now here is where my question comes into play. If you look at the literal meaning of the word "assualt" and the word "weapon"....Wouldnt all these be classified as "assualt weapons". Why do only guns carry the term.

Get in a barroom brawl and you are liable to be assaulted with a beer bottle. I never understood how only guns are assault weapons either.
