Like most people on this site I have a vast collection of customs calls ( my wife would say to many...). Can't remeber the last time I bought a production call. I have given all but one of them away to freinds or nephews.
But I have a Quakerboy Grand Old Master box call that is always in my vest. I've killed a lot of birds with it. And even now I will break it out when I can't get a bird to answer my other calls.
Don't know what is is about it, but it works and will always have a place in my vest.
What production call has a special place in your vest ?
My Lohman Thunderdome Crystal is the first one out of the vest and 90% of the time it's the last one to get zipped up with a bird flopping in front of me. I've hunted with it for 14 years. I've finally started using custom calls on occasion, but the Dome will always be in the vest.
HS Easy Rasp and the Power V.
Lohman Thunderdome Slate ! :icon_thumright:

Primos Heartbreaker
I had to think about it a bit... I don't own a production call of any kind... not even a striker or crow call. Hmmm... Guess I better go buy me a squealin' hen or something... ;D
I guess I'm spoiled by all of the great callmakers I've had the privelege of meeting and hearing their calls.
Primos hoot tube. Does not sound realistic, but it sure makes them gobble in AR.

I'm with Wingbone on this one. I have carried the Lohman Crystal Thunderdome for years and haven't found something to take it's place yet. There also may be a Knight and Hale Old Yeller in there somewhere. Everything else is custom.
A 15 year old Quaker boy mahogany mini boat paddle box. Hayden's triple threat crow call.
Primos frictionite "Freak"! By far my call that i will never leave the house without. I love my custom calls and all but my Freak will do just about anything and it has called in and accounted for its share of turkeys and has made even more gobble, they eat it up! Always the first one out of the vest for me.
I still haul around an old Primos Power Crystal.
Cody II. Glass.
I bought a slate Cody World Class from Bill in 1993. A lot of custom calls rotate in and out of my vest, but the Cody has talked to too many gobblers to not always be in my vest,. For a lot of gobblers that responded to the Cody, it was their last conversation.
K&H Ol'Yeller.
Can you all who posted about the Thunderdomes post up some pictures of them. I was reading about them on another site and wanted to see some of them. What all surfaces did they come in?

I've got 3 Lohman Thunderdomes. Here's a pic of 2 of them. The other 1 is in my vest. All of mine are slate. As far as I know they were made with Chrystal & slate. I buy everyone I see. As you can see the aluminum dome dented up easy. The one in my vest looks worse than any of them. IMO they are a Killer slate call.

Nothing plastic left in my vest including locators. A pair of codys are still in there. Like someone else said, they have killed too many birds to give them up.
My Hooks Hoot'N'Stick is the last piece of plastic in my vest. I'm always tempted to buy the turned wood version or make one of my own, but I just can't seem to put aside that swirled plastic gem of a call.
I used a Crystal Dome years back and killed a lot of birds with it, its gone now, it got broke. The only production call I still carry is the one I killed my first 2 long beards with, a Quaker Boy Easy Yelper, It don't get used very often but I did kill my 4th bird in Tn. With it this year on heavily hunted public land the last week of the season.
This brings back fond memories....I killed my first bird with a glass thunderdome. I still have it, maybe I should break it out again.
As far as production things in my vest it is a Primos Gobble tube....although I may put the old Thunder dome back in there for old time sake!!
The HS Woods Witch!
I have one crystal Thunderdome in my vest and one still in the package. I hope that I don't have to open it.

Wayne Carlton's "Copper Pot". I also like Lohman's Thunderdome series of calls. I have three. One each in slate, crystal and ceramic.

That's what I'm talkin about! Mine's crystal and dented something awful. It's always been my confidence call though. I wish I could find another crystal dome.

They were made in Slate,Crystal and Ceramic.
Lynch Foolproof and HS Tech 3 and Power Cutter. Most times old Kenny Morgan tube ,too.
Quaker Boy Long Ranger tube call.
Primos Heartbreaker and Cody II slate.
I don't have a single production call in my vest.
I haven't had one in there since 2007 and that was a primos power crystal.
If I was going to to put any commercial calls in my vest they would be the power crystal and hs strut lil' deuce.
Primos Jackpot glass,HS strutt Hooter.
Primos Hot Box, just because of it's size, and I still carry a Primos Heartbreaker on occasion.
Haven't used a production slate since buying my first Light's Out years ago.
The Hot Box will probably get replaced this year by something small from Paul's Calls, or someone else who makes a pocket rocket....
mudhen
I always have a BassPro branded Cody glass call in my vest.
Called one up with it for a friend this year. It still has some magic in it. :toothy12:
H.S. Strut Wood Witch Slate...came with an H.S. Strut stinger stick striker. Had it for 10 years now. Still use it every hunt. Also carry the Faulks C-50 crow.
For a production call it is Knight and Hales Ol Yeller.
My custom box call collection is up to about 100 calls and this spring something odd happened. While guiding down in TX a Quaker Boy Turkey Thug Box Cutter ended up in my truck and I used it to drive and locate as calls get knocked about and I didn't want to break one of my Lamar Williams or Albert Paul calls I brought. The box cutter has a very high pitch and the Rios loved it! I called up 5 birds with that call this spring and for some reason it worked on the Rios!
In past seasons I had similiar luck with the Primos Wet Box.
