Title: Turkey hunting turns into woodtick races!!!
Post by: wisconsinteacher on May 20, 2012, 12:40:35 PM
Well we hunted near Park Falls, WI this weekend and did not hear or see a bird.  I have never hunted turkeys this far north before but learned that hunting the public land of northern WI is hard.  Very few birds in the area.  We did end up going to the 2012 International Woodtick Races in Oxbo, WI.  They had 163 ticks in the race but there was only one winner.  The rest got the hammer.

I had to check it out, "International Woodtick Races in Oxbo, WI."  Yep, it's real.   ;D

I did not enter a tick but I did have about 3876 on me the during the morning hunt.  One was fast but I did not want to carry it with me and hang on to it all day long. lol  Oxbo is a canoe/boat rental, campground, and bar all in one.  I was going to get a shirt that said, "Nice Ticks" for the wife but decided to not waste the $20.
