I have been dreaming about this flashlight for about a year now. Well I finally pulled the trigger and just bought one. It should be here Saturday. It runs off of 4 D NIMH batteries. It's one of the brightest LED lights on the market.
Here's a few pictures of what it looks like.

And here's the kind of beam it throws.

Actually WAITED a year?
Get out of here!!! :goofball:
Looks like a wicked light!! :icon_thumright:

Great now I NEED something else. Cool light.
What would be really sweet is if they had the remote pressure switch for it. I'd mount it in the front of my boat and get double duty out of it.
Well I Didn't pay nowhere near $250 for it.
I paid $172.50 shipped to my door. You won't find it any cheaper. And you won't find a LED light that will touch it for that price either.
Maybe this one will show you what I mean when I say not many lights will touch it.

And if your still intersted shoot me a pm and I'll give you Shane's email address so you can get it for the same price I did.
Congrats ! That's an awesome looking light ! You could use it for an airplane landing light ! :icon_thumright:
Hevi, love it. Been wondering when you were gonna post a new light up here for me to look at.
Never seen that one. But I like it. Funny that some guys spend money like that on little surfire lights that probably aren't half as good. Good luck with it. Don't burn the woods down with it. LOL.
How much do those batteries cost?

I have bought some, but I slowed down a little. I got 3 more coming. I just don't want to get carried away here since this isn't a flashlight forum.
Surefire makes some very nice lights, but your paying for the name and the lifetime warranty. Surefire doesn't make a light that I know of that will touch the TK70.
Seems like the roosted birds would be able to see ya when you walk into the woods with that? :toothy12:
Awesome light. If a headlight on the truck goes out, little duct tape and you're good to go!
Al,
I got 4 of the Tenergy 10,000MAH batteries coming and should be here Mon. Those are supposed to be super batteries with the higher MAH capacity which you need to run the TK70 on turbo mode. Reports from guys on the flashlight forums with the TK70 and these batteries is that you can run it on turbo for about 1hr and 15 min before it kicks down to high mode. I think it kicks down though due to protect the XM-L led's from getting too hot. But the Energizer NIMH D cell batteries you can buy at wally world for like 2 for $10 are only rated at 2500MAH. So I doubt they will be much better than alkalines. You can use alkalines in this light but they don't have the capacity to run the light on turbo mode for very long I believe is why they recommend the higher capacity NIMH batteries.
Here's the link to the batteries I bought. They are cheaper per battery if you buy 8 or 12 at a time form this seller.

I wanted to tell anyone here who is considering this light that it is a pretty good size light. It runs on 4 D cell batteries. The head is like 105mm in diameter. But it is a throw demon. And it has some very good spill as you can see in the photos. There is a video on youtube where a guy actually shuts off a streetlight at night by activating the daylight sensor shining the TK70 beam on it.
I find it funny that your lights are too big for practical use and your turkey pellets are too small for practical use.
That's one bright light!
That is one bright light!!! Put that on a quad for emergency use. Wonder how it will work in the fog??

Well that is your opinion and we all have one it seems.
I can assure you I have a mixed variety, and that isn't even all of the ones I have bought. My son has quite a few as well.
Maybe you could find one that would serve your need, but then again maybe not.

My grandmothers brother warned me of lights like this ...... he would fly over targets in the third Reich when he flew for the RAF , German 88's would soon zero in on your planes location .... dangerous missions ...... JK
that beam has got to be a million candlepower - wow
Well I took some beamshots just a little while ago if you guys want to see them.
Here's few more of the light itself. It's 16" long with the extender tube shown in the picture and running off 4 d nimh batteries.

i need 1 those b4 deer season! :cowboy:
Im a man that likes well lit flashlights as well ;D. Fenix makes a great light though that is way to big for me to carry in the woods lol. We use streamlight supertac c4's and they are really bright and can light up a long ways but not much side spill with the way the bezel is designed. Good battery life as well. IMO surefire is the most over rated.
Here's one I just took at 60yds with the Fenix TK70. Thought I would show you boys how well it lights up an object at 60yds which is close for this light.
This was taken on manual with 0.7 sec shutter and 4/F ISO400.

im going to have one of them.
great light.. hate to loose this one in the woods
