Title: Indian artifact??
Post by: timberjack86 on May 12, 2012, 07:15:08 PM
I found this in a plowed field hunting in middle TN. It is a bone with a groove cut through it.(http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h351/timberjack86/1336863319.jpg)(http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h351/timberjack86/1336863326.jpg)(http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h351/timberjack86/1336863333.jpg)

Maybe part of an atlatl?   Is there anything like a notch at the end of the groove at the fatter end of the bone that might hold the head of the dart?  It looks like the groove goes a bit deeper there, but it is hard to tell from the pictures.
