Any of you guys that hunt some flavor of turkey other than Easterns think that the coloring on an Eastern is cool? I know I am a fan of Merriams/Rios/Osceolas. I didn't really realize how much color difference there was until I actually saw a Rio. I still think Easterns are still cool, but they are just your basic run of the mill wild turkey.
I'll take I don't understand the question Alex for $800.
I think all the turkeys are beautiful, except the Ocellated.
The eastern is like the nasty girl back in high school
She may not have been the prettiest to look at but she was sure the most fun!

That's great!!
Except for the head and feet, they are beautiful. I see a variety of coloration in the Easterns here. Some have very dark fans, some much lighter.
Kind of like ducks, "what a beautiful bird...let me shoot it!" :icon_thumright:

That's interesting. I'm curious... Why do you think they're the most fun to hunt?
(ps, I've only hunted Easterns)
Love to hunt Easterns but agree with RutnNStrutn that all are beautiful birds.
I only hunt in my home state and to my knowledge we only have easterns here in KY. I think they are all beautiful.

It is basically a "Is the grass greener on the other side?" sort of question. Since all I had ever seen in person were Easterns, I thought it was cool as heck to see a Rio. I was wondering if the converse was true.
