Title: Win some, lose some
Post by: Spring_Woods on April 27, 2012, 08:44:40 AM
Today I lost. The bird went to the closest hen (hunter) and BOOM!

Ah, well it was a great morning to be out. Birds were very vocal.

Wish you could have got him. I lose way more than I win.

Yeah me too. He just gobbled too much on public land. I didn't figure anyone was hunting over there today.

Thats one of the things that make public land birds tough.

Happened to me Saturday too, I came in on the thicket side of the bird and was sneaking/crawling thru brush trying to get around him to set up on the open woods side. Got set up and he answered me a couple of times and BOOM!!!!!!!!!! I was close enough I could here the Floppin. Didnt even walk over to take a look at him.
Hang in there we'll be on the right side sooner or later. :funnyturkey:
