Here a few pictures of the turkey bird that I shot on opening morning, (last Wednesday). It was a frosty morning. Only about 20 degrees. He weighed in at 19 3/4#, had a 10" beard, and the spurs were just under 1". I shot him at 25 yards with my 10ga. BPS., using #7 Nitro's.
It was over in a hurry. He was with a very vocal boss hen that didn't like me being in her domain, I guess..She came over to kick my DSD Upright Hen's butt, and drug this unfortunate boy along with. He gobbled once on the way in. It was his last..
The second bird is one that I called in for my cousin, on Saturday. He was 18/1/2#, 9 1/2" beard, and 3/4" spurs.
