Title: 870 3 Inch Hevishot choke and 7's
Post by: chcltlabz on April 11, 2012, 04:00:53 PM
Just got back from the range with this combo, and man am I impressed.

I thought I was shooting something special last year when I hit 189 with the Mag Blends out of this gun, but this pattern blew it out of the water!

It was windy as all get out and raining here, and I was able to get 247 pellets in 10 inches with a 3 inch shell.

I'm waiting on the rain soaked pattern to dry and I'll post up pictures. :z-winnersmiley:

I know you were excited and couldn't wait to tell somebody,  that's some great numbers from a 3" shell. Just curious as to what your 20" inch numbers look like.  Post up some pics when you get a chance.

Well thanks to all the internet police out there. :policeman:  I thought I was posting this in the Turkey Guns page, but obviously didn't.  Since it took about 15 minutes for the SWAT Team to arrive, I couldn't delete the post.

Since I don't want to be called a liar I'll post this pattern, but likely won't again.(http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac2/brentsmith6/Hevi-137s2012.jpg)

That's a good one!  :z-winnersmiley:

Thank you for posten a pic. Again no one's calling you a liar. Just need to put up pics with topic to keep this section of the forum.  :thanks:

I am liking the Hevi chokes also. They seem to do well with different sizes of shot and oz. of pellets in the loads.

3 inch gun, probably 20 years old.  Just rehabbed it and brought it back to life last year for turkey season.

Amazing what a little oil and a good polishing can do.

Yeah, cleaned and polished my bore and choke before going out too.
I was amazed at what these loads/choke combinations will do...

Anytime you get 240 or more in a 10" from a 3" Hevi-13 #7 load at 40yds in my book that's an excellent grade A pattern.
