My Stoeger m2000 shoots low left. I put a smaller bead on it and fixed the low issue, but it still hits a little left. I don't like fiber optic rifle sights or scopes for that matter. The way I hunt I need a gun that I can get on target quickly with. Anyone ever have their barrel "straightened"? Also will the rib pop off my stoeger if I try to fix it?
My cousin bent two of his, an 1187SM and Benelli SBE. I know another guy that bent his 1187 bbl to zero for his best patterning shell/choke combo.
Both of them bent them between two trees that were very close together. My cousin likes to just flex it a bit, then shoot as he claims it can get out of hand quickly. I looked at the barrels after he did this and you couldnt tell they'd been bent, but the POIs proved what you couldnt see. Both were dead on with the bead after.
I personally would be a bit scared to do it on a high dollar rig, but I have seen it work. My 1187SM needed it badly as it would not zero with adjustable Williams FO sights. I was too leary of doing it, so I just put a FF2 on it and removed the open sights. Rem told me they would replace it, but I declined because it patterns very well and I was afraid I might get a dud bbl if I swapped. I've killed a pile of toms with that rig, so have no regrets in not replacing it.
You might should contact Stoeger and see if they will replace it.

I have seen that done to a lot of barrels over the years. There are 2 gunsmiths that I know who do it on a pretty regular basis. They have a jig for the process and over the years have learned exactly how to do it very precisely.
As I understand it, there is a limit to just how much correction can be made. If your barrel is off just a bit, I think it would work very well and I've never heard of any damage to a rib.

In my experience different loads and chokes shoot different poi .... I would just put sights or optics on so you can always adjust for different situations
Did your gun come with shims? A drop and cast off shim would fix it...if it isn't drastically way off.
Yep, winchester 1200. poi was a little too far off with my dove loads. (my dove gun) So I asked my gunsmith... He does this frequently. shoots perfect now
Are the ribs on your all guns welded to the barrel or are they floating? I was told not to do it with a barrel that the rib is welded on. It is not that bad (3-4" at 20 yds) but bad enough I want it corrected. Like I said, I am very agressive on turkeys and many times will get within 20-30 yards of birds if the terrain lets me. The only downside is when you set up this close and call softly, the bird is staring right at you when he pops up from over the hill. You don't have long to react because if he dosent see the hen he just heard.....bye bye. That is why sights or optics don't work for me......many times we see each other at the same time, and it ends up being more of a wing shooting situation.
Take a look at the Burris FF. Way faster than beads and it doesn't get any easier.
