Post by: erictski on April 04, 2012, 11:09:57 PM
I plan to get a preturned pot from Brookside in 3" Osage Orange and want to use a copper surface.

What are your favorite sound boards for a 3" copper in Osage...i was thinking glass in 2.5" but wasnt sure.

Thanks for any info...

2.5 works great. Never tried anything else.

I've tried glass, slate, and wood in copper calls. You can get a great sound with all of them.

I've only made one copper call in osage and I used slate for a soundboard. Here is what it sounded like:

Obviously, Joe's pot call dimensions are different from mine so take that sound bite for what it's worth. That particular call played really fast so the purrs were tough, but I really liked cutting on it.
