I would like to humbly ask for any and every one that will pray for our family to help us out.
As a few of you may know, my wife and I lost a son shortly after birth back in Sept. of 2007. We have been foster parents for the past few years and our lives have been touched greatly through this process. We never really thought about purposefully trying for another child, but we found out back in November that we were expecting another child. We have a 4 yr. old foster son that will be finished adopting in a few weeks.
All has been going well until we got a call from the doctors late Monday evening saying that my wife has a high level of a certain enzyme in the placenta around the baby.
There were several options, including an immediate abortion..we can ride it out, hoping the placenta doesn't fail, or start taking massive doses of vitamin D and try to make it to 26-30 weeks and deliver the baby pre-maturely....but if this level of enzyme doesn't come down dramatically in the next 2 weeks, we may have no option. We are at 21 weeks now.
I chose to believe what Gods word tells me. I am 42 years old and have heard the word all of my life. I know it's not all a lie. God does care for us and knows the affairs of our hearts. He told us he would never allow us to be taken down by more than we could handle...and we can't handle this. He promised us long life, full and satisfied and I believe him, my trust and faith are in him.
We are simply asking that good people stand with us in the prayer that our un-born daughter "Alicia Danielle" will be formed in the perfection in which she was created and that all medical problems in the placenta will correct immediately and that angels will be dispatched to hold a hedge of protection over that placenta and womb.

I agree completely with Scott's prayers and petitions, and ask for your Holy hands to be laid upon Alicia. Let her be formed in your precious, perfect image, and may your work as the Great Creator be formed and presented to this world in a miraculous manner, not for our glory, but truly for yours. We give you praise and glory for what you have already done, and for what your are already planning, and are going to do. I thank you for my daughter Faith, and for your promise to my wife, and I, and ask the same for my brother and sister. Let your Holy Spirit lead, guide, and direct Scott and his wife April, the Dr's, and all the people who come into contact with them in this matter. May their faith be strong, and may it be a glorious testament to your works, and to your existence.
Again Father, we thank you, praise you, and look to you with pleading voices and hearts, in bringing baby Alicia Danielle into this world, unharmed and preciously made in your image. For it is in Jesus name we ask and claim these things, Amen!!

I have to give everyone an update so that the lord can be praised and thanked. The prayers that have been prayed are being heard, just as he said they would when we gather in his name.
My wife went to the Dr.'s office today for another blood test. When they called with the results, the bad enzyme level had dropped 210 points on their scale of measurement.
We have a way to go to see the level come to an acceptable level, but it IS COMING DOWN !!!!
When my wife called to tell me, I could hear the joy in her voice, my wife sounded comforted, just as i've asked Jesus to keep her.
We ask you to continue your prayers, but please also praise God for his work and the results seen today.
I also ask you to pray for my strength. Satan tries to beat me up by reminding me of what I saw in Sept. of '07. He tries to mock me and make me doubt. I tell him I will not bend...I may be scared but I will not break.

April went back to the Dr. today for another blood test and the enzyme level came down some more. Not a major jump, but every point counts. Praise the lord !
She takes another Vitamin D treatment tomorrow and goes back for more test on friday. I must admit that her Dr.'s are giving her care that is way above and beyond. They have answered all of our questions fully, kept nothing from us and made decisions that have been beneficial to the health of the baby. God uses people that will allow him to, and Dr.'s are no different. Just because the deal strictly with the practice of medicine and adhere to scientific fact, it doesn't mean they can't be believers and be used by the lord to heal as we have asked him to heal. It doesn't matter how it comes, it matters where it comes from.
God has been so good to us and I believe with all my heart that he will keep us under his wing and provide shelter because we called upon him.

sounds like the lord is answering prayers, we'll keep on praying for ya'll.
I just can't stop thanking the lord for what he is doing in our lives and how he is keeping his promises. He has been so good to us, and we are so thankful that he is in control of the situation.
April went for another blood test today and the enzyme level has come down another 52 points !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The doctor wants to see it come down at least 78 more points to feel like we're out of the woods, but God knows the ending to the story already. He knew our baby when she was conceived and he knows her destiny. He is always in control................

Well, if you have read all my previous post, you know it's been getting better.
In my last post, I said we needed 78 points in enzyme reduction to come into a safe zone for the baby.........WE GOT 82 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The lord certainly deserves all the praise that I can give him. We had a scare a little earlier today at the doctor, she said my wife had dialated about 1/2 centimeter, and that's not good. But he has handled that for us as well. All is OK.
They did some more checks of her, the baby and placenta. Baby is moving around good, very lively and her little heart rate is right on cue at about 157 b.p.m.
You know, God certainly showed us his power in all the bible stories we've ever read. We read of seas parting, the deaf hearing, the blind being restored their sight, the lame were made to walk. Sampson pulled down the walls of the temple, David slew Phillistines by the 1,000's and we've read of Gods children walking around the walls of Jericho until they collapsed.
As I prayed I told God, "you know God, I read of all your works and I believe what I read in your word. With what you have performed in the past, our situation is merely childs play to you. This condition is so small to you, correcting it should only take 1 bat of the eye. You said jesus came to die for us so that we might have eternal salvation and life. If I am truly a joint heir with Jesus, that means i'm entitled to every glorious thing that the kingdom holds and that includes healing. I expect a miracle today and will accept nothing less. Amen."
I do not see this as challenging God, but claiming what is mine according to the word. The word he sent us to live by and be encouraged by.
In all of this I have stood on the word, paticularly Psalms 121.
I especially love the 8th and final verse that plainly states.
"The lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
I am also always drawn to the 91st Psalm, a great source of strength.
Take time this day to personally thank God for what he has done for all of us. Thanks guys !!!

Well guys, you'll never know how joyful I am to tell you what i'm getting ready to tell you.
My wife went back to the doctor today for her weekly check-up and the Dr. said everything is PERFECT....not, ok....not, getting better.....not, we ain't out of the woods yet.......but, PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Took a sugar test today, there is no diabetes threat. All other test have indicated perfection. There is no more threat of downs syndrome, no threat of mental retardation, no threat of an abortion,no threats of any kind that could have been the result of this bad enzyme in the placenta that is now at its correct level.
Perfection............I never expected anything less from God. He has touched my wifes womb with a touch that only he can provide.
I haven't stopped thanking and praising him all day, I never will stop. Thank you men for praying with us and for us. Thank you. We fully expect the next up-date to be to tell you guys the news of Alicias birth.

Well, I thought i'd fill everybody back in on whats been going on with our baby.
All of the complications that we were experiencing left and never came back. Praise God. There were a few times over the past 5 or 6 weeks we thought she was gonna' come a little early, but we are going to the exact due date. We are going to cross the finish line........
Please remember us as we are scheduled to go to the hospital this coming Thursday morning July 14th at 6 a.m. for Aleesha to be delivered by c-section. April and I are pumped up and ready to see her arrival into this world. We have certainly needed and appreciated your prayers over the past months. This was not even supposed to be possible, but the Lord has provided and heard our prayers. None of this would be possible without Him and every praise and honor go directly to our Savior.
