Well after a little horse trading, I got rid of my 3" 870 and got a 3.5" SuperMag and ordered a Knoxx stock and now am even. The SM has some surface rust on the barrel and receiver but I am hoping that some oil and rubbing will take care of that. There was a lot of grit and junk inside the trigger and mag tube, but I cleaned it well and now it runs smooth. The barrel looks bright only after on run with a BoreSnake. I am going to polish the barrel soon. I am also going to run the action a few times then take it apart and reclean it. I will post some pictures of the rust later so see what you guys think is the best way to remove it. Thanks.
000 or 0000 steel wool and some 10w30 and that rust will come right off and you will never know it was there, and as long as you are gentle it wont mess with the blueing
Well now I have a weekend project. Thanks for the info.
Glad your happy with your new gun....Congrats :icon_thumright:
