Title: Hevi-13 question?
Post by: Cutt on March 16, 2012, 07:34:35 PM
As we know, and I know from patterning Hevi-13 from different lot #'s, the pattern can and does change.

My question is, can the POI change from a different lot #? Same exact load, but different lot #? Just would hate to have patterned my gun with one lot#, and have to buy more shells for hunting and get a different lot# and go hunting assuming they should have the same POI? Thanks

Between both Winchester XRHD and Hevi-13 loads...they all shoot the same for my 870.  But the Magnum Blend shoots a touch high.

Thanks, I'm just talking the same exact Hevi-13 load, but different lot #'s

Example I patterned with Hevi-13 3.5 2.25oz. #6's lot # 300787 adjusted ,my POI to dead center. Now I need more shells to hunt with, and again buy the same exact shell Hevi-13 3.5 2.25oz. #6's, but now they are a different lot # xxxxxx. Can I assume this diffent lot #, although same exact shell other than lot#, willl have the same POI?

Sounds like a 25.00$ question. Shoot a box with a different lot number and see how your gun likes it.Hopefully it will be the same.

Between the 7 or 8 guys who pattern there guns with me each spring we go through alot of H13 and MB in 2 3/4" and 3" I have not seen a noticeable difference between lot numbers as far as POI. There can be some differences in pellet count in the 10"; but that is usually a 5% orless difference at most.
