Post by: Rockhound on March 06, 2012, 02:42:34 PM
The ones that have shot this choke alot, did you guys notice a better pattern after a few shots than the first couple?

A clean choke and a clean barrel always give me the best patterns...

Are you saying it's worse after you clean it...or when it was brand new?

Neither of the Jelly head chokes performed well in my 870 28" barrel.

Don't listen to Brad...he's a Jelly Head buzz killer... :TooFunny:

I sorry.  But I was just pointing out that Jelly Head chokes don't shoot in every Rem barrel.  I know others and apprently a lot of you guys swear by them in your Rem barrels.

That is not what the poster asked about

Give it a rest, Brad and stick to answering the poster's question. :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an

What has been the temperature change each time you have patterned?

That can change your pellet count as well.

I think there could be something to it.  A buddy and me were at the range the other day.  For the fun of it I tried his Jellyhead choke again.  Last year it did not shoot good for me at all and it was realitively new..less than 10 shots.  Well---I now have a Jellyhead!  It blew my PG out of the water.  I really don't know how to explain it.  Same box of ammo (magblends) the otherday too.

I have two Jelly heads... one in a super nova the other in a SBE.. they pattern everything from Magblend, hevishot 6's and FHW 7's very well.  All over 200 in a 10 at 40yds.  I know your not suppose to shoot the FHW (flight control wad) in a ported choke but the Jelly head has never posted less then 200 in a 10 at 40 with the FCW for me.
