What is the best choke for lead #6s? I have a Undertaker but needless to say its $#!T. :cowboy:
kicks
Gobblin' Thunder?
x2 :agreed:
INDIAN CREEK .655 for lead !! :newmascot:
alot depends on the gun. i get 140 in a 10" at 40 with the Ultra full that came with my 835
I tend to favor a Kick's GT .655 for #6's.
Just ordered a IC.
i'd go with a kicks gobblin thunder, they have different constrictions based on what shot size and payload you are going to shoot, so listen to their recommendations and you should be good to go

Yeah my grandfathers buddy had a old 1990's 835 that had an choke with it that patterned the hell outta #4s.
In Rem bores, the best lead 6 shooter I've tried was the ICBDS 665 followed by (in order) JH665, JH660, GT665, VL655, Rem SF, GT655,SD668. I've tried others as well, but those top 3-4 are hard to beat.
Inv + the best for lead has been the SD667 for me, but I've only tried the JH670, PG665, Brwng XF, and the GT655 in Inv +
835, the SD676
Inv/Winchoke the best by far has been the SD667
The Star Dot chokes seem to perform in everything but Rems IME.
I have used a Kicks Gobbling Thunder .665 in my 870 shooting Winchester Extended Range #6s for 5-4 years. Get wonderful patterns on the board and it kills turkey dead. Just my opinion and I am happy with it. :smiley-char092:
I used Kick's chokes with good success out of several guns when I shot lead.
I liked a .650
you can constrict lead more than you can constrict hevi shot, also my .643truglossx threw the best lead patterns out of my 870, it beat out a .665JH and a .670PG with pre flight control federals and win HV's 5's and 6's
.676 Stardot and a .695 Undertaker in my 835's
.565 Tru glow GSX in my 20ga 870 youth for all my lead shooting
