Title: Curious to know.....
Post by: OldHen on February 06, 2011, 11:39:00 PM
1- what did you do when the site was down to pass time
2- did anyone spend any quality time with friends and family or did you sit here hitting the refresh button every few minutes
3- how many of your wives (significant others) did a happy dance thinking... I'm getting him back?

I just paced around the house for 2 day's stopping back by the computer every 30 minutes or so to hit the OG link on the favorites bar to see if I could get my daily fix.  Now I know how a crack addict must feel.

We got hammered with snow last night so for 12 hours today, I was in a skidsteer moving snow at the hospital I work at.  Came home for an hour and had Super Bowl Pizza with the family.  It was a long day, but when I got home, I had a nice surprise.

Worked. Made more calls, strikers, and decoys. Scouted on Saturday, see video clip "Mother Lode Turkeys". Then watched the Super Bowl. There went my weekend.

On Saturday I cleaned a new shotgun - ready for some skeet and upland birds with that one.  I did the grocery shopping and piddled around the house.  On Sunday I went to church, then shot basketball with my youngest daughter (she has a Special Olympics tournament coming up soon), then we watched the Super Bowl - I managed to check Old Gobbler several times in between (and got back on)!

I was irritable, had the shakes, talking to myself, moody with anger outbursts, and running a low grade fever, but other than that, I was o.k.  :gobble:

Glad to be back.  :z-guntootsmiley:

I spent the time hitting refresh, some "honey-dos" and resting.

God Bless,
David B.

I done the chat room thing and it helped, watched the house keeper clean my house on Saturday, watched some Lonesome Dove, went looking for birds with a guy that hates to hunt with me and had a good time, that was about it.

With the kids, I don't spend a lot of time on until they go to bed.  She wasn't happy when it came back up, but with the SB on I got my posts up and we watched the game.  Struggled on Sat, but did fine sunday as I was shooting.

It was kinda weird at first it was utter disappointment, then I slowly started to convince myself it would be back soon, then the twitching started at worst my wife had to hold me down during the convulsions and eventually those wore off and I went sledding with my kids , spent time with the family etc... Now however the site is back and I am not as anxious for that next OG hit. I konw I can get it when I get home or to my work computer....Sigh its good to be back

Split some wood and carried it to the house, racked a few leaves.  At night watched some old Charles Bronson movies and played a computer game. Then I found the chat room you set up, I really enjoyed that.

Living on Lake Mille Lacs for 3 days. Drove 60 miles on that frozen lake in my truck. It's 132,000 acres so it wasn't hard. Oh and i got stuck in a giant snow drift :icon_thumright:

I was sitting in a motel in Great Falls MT waiting for the snow to quit, tried to get on a few times and was a little bummed.
I made it through though

I came to the conclusion that I am an OG addict. I went into DT's but finally I was brought back from near doom when the site came back up. Thanks again

I checked several times to see if it was fixed, and spent 10 minutes or so in the chat room.  My wife was out of town, so she didn't see any benefits.  My two boys and I watched it snow while watching movies on Saturday, we cleaned the house Saturday afternoon, and drove through a white out snow storm to pick up the new Turkey and Turkey Hunting magazine Saturday evening.  On Sunday afternoon we skied and I did some drawing.

I've been thinking I need to back off on my internet time anyway.  I've got kids to raise, and sitting in front of the monitor isn't very effective.

Like most of the other's checked to see if it was up every 30 minutes or so. I'm a big reader of past post to glean as much info as I can.

I lucked out. I picked the perfect time to upgrade my cable reciever. The new one has WildTV so I watched hunting shows all weekend except when the super bowl came on. I did check maybe once or twice to see if OG was back.  :z-flirtysmile3:

I went by a pawn shop looking for a turkey gun. He sold a camo870 just before Christmas. Later I went to wally world and looked at a new 870, only 289 and change. Didn't like the finish. Went home with my money knowing I would be holding out for an 870 Super Magnum.
I got on the chat room and started looking for another call. Ended up buying two custom calls. Haven't got to hold them yet but I am happy with the money spent.

Went slowly and steadily insane till Annie hooked up the chatroom.
I know I was insane, due to the fact that I climbed on my roof to shovel it off!

Visited a few hunting and call sites I haven't visited in a long while. Didn't take long to remember why I didn't go there anymore. Glad OG is back up and running.
