Title: Question for Nitro's shooters
Post by: lotsaleadindahead on February 22, 2011, 06:46:54 PM
I ordered some pure heavy shot Nitro's for my daughter.  My question is does anyone know what heavy shot they use?  I know their are several weight's of heavy shot, is the the 12g per CC or 13g per CC?  Or?

Not necessarily.  Heavy shot comes in two or three different weights.  Heavy 13 is their standard turkey load and their waterfowl loads are 12g per CC.  That's why they use the Heavy 13 mantra on their turkey shells, because they are slightly heavier than their other loads.

Nitro Ammo is 12 g/cc. Environmetal keeps the hevi-13 for their own loads.
It is still bad medicine for turkeys!

That's what I was thinking.  Doesn't Heavy Shot  use the 12g stuff in their waterfowl loads?

most on OG have found that hevi 13 is actually hevi 12 and yes they use hevi 12 in their waterfowl loads
